Opening Day Outfits.

Well today was a big day for Jb and me, we opened our new Grand Rapids store! All of our employees were dressed so cute I decided to take some pictures so you could see their outfits.

Well here it is!

Maribeth ( "Me" of Jb and Me ) Wearing a Free People
long cardigan with a pair of skinny tan jeans from Joe's Jeans.

Jamie ( "Jb" of Jb and Me )  wearing a colorful tank (available at the new
store, but can't remember what brand it is) Madeline wedges, and a teal pair of skinny jeans from
Joe's jeans.

This is Samantha, she is one of our new employees
at the Grand Rapids store:)  Loving that bright colored
Free People top she is wearing today!  It's the color of
the season ya know:)

Look at these two cuties.  Valerie is on the left, you might
recognize her from modeling for us on our old website.  She helped
us out for the day at the store.  She is wearing a new silk top from Language (available at
both locations), a multi colored Madeline wedge, and a pair of True Religion Lizzy crops.
Hannah (New GR employee) is wearing such a fun pair of colored pants today....this is a great
example of what to pair with colored denim.

Here is Sue in her cute AG crop jeans, fun colored tee, and a polka dot scarf.  I caught
her in the middle of giving a belt demonstration...You'll be able to find Sue at the GR store almost every day.  She is great at putting outfits together:)

Meet Bre:)  I love Bre's dress, it is from a line called
Ark&Co.  (A fav. of mine, cute and great prices)
She added a skinny SB belt to add some color and match her necklace.
You can find Bre at the new GR store as well:)

Here I am. I've posted this dress before, but it is one of my favorites
so I wanted to wear it today.  I paired it with my new SixtySeven boots and added a camel sueded belt
to match the boots.

This is Stacy.  She is the new manager at the GR store.  I love the simplicity of her outfit, and the cute
strappy sandal she has on from Coconuts.  You will be able to find Stacy everyday at the new store:)

Give and Take: Tees on a Mission.

I purchased this tee a year or two ago from Jb and me, and it has been a favorite of mine for a few reasons.

Reason #1 The Give and take t-shirt line donates a portion of sales to partner organizations whose work demonstrates a commitment to service and advocacy.
Reason #2 it is the softest t-shirt material ever.
Reason #3 I have always loved cute graphic tees and jeans. It's my comfort outfit. Check out their website, they have t-shirts for men and women and they are all really cute.

I've also included some pictures of my lovely pups for your enjoyment. Can you tell they love this warm weather too? It means frisbee time in the back yard:)

Check out this link to their website: Give and take tees

Pairing boots with your Spring Looks.

Some of you are probably getting ready to start hauling your Spring clothes out, and start putting the Fall away. This annual closet change up also includes changing up your shoe selection as well. Before you tuck away your boots however, take a look at them and see if they look like they could be worn this Spring. I have a pair of short cowboy boots in a tannish yellow leather that I like throwing on with my cut off shorts and a tee and I recently just purchased these Sixty seven boots for Spring as well to wear with sundresses. They are a tall boot, but have little slits in the leather which will make them breathable this Spring.

Dark suede boots will most likely have to Wintery of a look to wear this Spring, so make sure you look at the color and material of the boot to decide whether they will work with your pastel dresses and colorful tops.

Pom Poms and Purses.

I've been training new staff at our store in Grand Rapids all week, which by the way is looking adorable! Many of you know that we are located right next to the new Anthropologie that also recently opened up... This also ='s 30 minute mini shopping trips on my lunch break:) Dangerous I know, but I'm in the process of buying a new house so I have to control my shopping urges... I did however, let myself buy one treat this week. I couldn't resist it. Here it is... An oversized beaded clutch. I fell in LOVE with the bright colors and the Pom Pom zipper pull.
Fun bags and clutches are a great way to bring color to your outfits this Spring as I've mentioned before. Have fun with color and be adventurous with it. Pair two unexpected bright colors together like orange and purple or coral and teal. Color is everywhere this Spring, embrace it;)

Confetti nails.

Just like many of you I'm addicted to Pinterest. You can find so many great fashion ideas, home decorating ideas, and one thing I've recently enjoyed checking out is nail polish ideas.
This color option was my recent find on Pinterest, I found all the colors I needed to pull the look together at ulta.

It's not a classic look, but fun for a little change when the solid color starts to bore you.

I started out with a butter nail polish in pink ribbon and topped it off with two coats of a sparkle polish from Nicole by OPI called rainbow in the s-kylie, part of the kardashian line (beware I did not buy it for that reason).

What colors are you all loving for your nails this Spring?

2nd Outfit With my Denim Top.

Okay, I know I shouldn't be letting you all know that YES I wore the same top twice in one week...but I figured, what's the big deal...I wanted to wear my cute denim top again...so I did:)
This time I changed up my outfit a bit and paired my top with my little fair isle skirt, and my Tretorn rain boots- which with the rain we've gotten today I was glad I wore them, plus the laces happened to match the skirt, which made me happy:)

All in all just another example of how you can mix and match different items in your closet.

Adding that "POP" of Color.

Accessories are such an easy way of bringing in a pop of color if you are one that likes to stick to simple neutrals in their wardrobe, or if your closet typically consists of nothing more than black and grey. Try pulling in a coral bag like I'm toting today, or add a chunky turquoise necklace to brighten up your look. To be honest I love wearing bright colors occasionally, but usually you'll find me in my typical ivory sweaters or solid tees, so I love pulling in most of my color by a scarf or fun accessory.
Having a bright bag is a must this season!  If your not ready to branch out and wear the popular tangerine color this season, try a mustard yellow instead.  It's a great neutral, and not as bright as some of the other options if color's not your thing.
I've paired my look with my fun Nicole leopard shoe, and also wore a silver necklace that is very special to me- it's one of my Grandmas rings melted together with one of my Grandpas rings, and in the middle there is a small little diamond from one of them...it will always be one of my favorites.

Jeans: Fidelity Ace Mid rise cuffed (jb and me)
Sanctuary Sweater (jb and me)
Tangerine bag (jb and me $48)
Necklace: From my Grandma and Grandpa <3
Shoes: Nicole Better in leopard (jb and me)
I guess it was a Jb and me day all around:)
