My new shades.

I've been drooling over these Tom Ford shades for months, and because of the price I always had to tell myself... maybe some day. Well I splurged and bought myself a little birthday gift with money I received from my Aunts:). They have a great 70's look to them which I love, and are a minty green with gold detail which goes with all the gold jewelry I wear on a daily basis.
My outfit today consists of my sanctuary top and fidelity mid rise jeans and Coralia necklace. Photos are taken courtesy of Abby Hoppen Albers and furry little Gracie at FOUND.

Neon.

So how are you all feeling about this neon trend we are seeing in everything from tops to pants to even our jewelry? I as many of you might guess from the following pictures love it. I already have added two tops with the bright fluorescent green in them to my closet.

My top is from Lilla P, jeans are Citizens of humanity and my necklace is made by a local designer. How many of you will be trying this trend???

My lace jacket.

I just love this free people jacket. It's been a staple in my closet for about a year and a half now... and I wear it all the time. Something about lace, it has such a pretty feminine feel to it that I really enjoy. I added a angelrox tank for my layering piece, paired it with skinny jeans and wrapped up a scarf tightly around my neck. I also had my hair in a fishtail braid which I proudly did all by myself this morning. I've always wanted to learn how to do the fishtale braid and was finally taught by my lovely cousin jen a few weeks ago. For those of you who are interested in learning here is how (it's actually quite easy). It's best to do it a little loose and messy.

The Gusty.

Just bought these shoes and i'm loving how they go with everything... although this shoe has a pattern it is neutral enough where I consider it a shoe you can almost wear with everything.  When I wear them I tend to keep my outfit pretty neutral/solid patterns and then I will pop this Nicole Gusty as my fun print.  They do have a thin ankle strap as well, which didn't show up in my photographs.  I also love that they give my short 5 ft 2" height a boost as well, all while being pretty comfy:)

Best Hair Ties Ever.

Some of you might be familiar with these little hair ties, but for those of you who are not let me fill you in on a little secret...

1. You can find them at anthropologie or anthropologie.com, and I also heard from a friend that she heard from someone else that an "off brand" can be found at Neubs in downtown Holland at a lower cost (I have yet to check that out yet)

2. They look cute on your wrist when your not wearing them unlike most other hair ties.

3. They don't pull your hair out and are very comfy when wearing them.

4. They come in adorable colors along with sparkle styles:)

Check em out they are $12 a pack, but well worth the price.

Doggy in Denim.

Haven't you heard its the latest new trend!?! Denim, one of our favorite things to wear is now the new thing for dogs... Ok I'm kidding... I'm not that crazy.

I did however have to show you these pictures of a friends little pooch
lucca wearing this oh so adorable fringe denim vest. We concocted it of leftover denim from altering an uber long pair of free people jeans, added a few little arm holes, drew on a peace sign and wallah an adorable mini vest was made:)

Enjoy these cute pics all u animal lovers;)

Bright color blocking.

I had to post these cute pictures of my co worker at jb and me, Lexi. She showed up to work in color from head to toe! This gives you a good example of the color blocking trend you have all been hearing about... None of the colors Lexi is wearing are the same, but they all look really nice paired with each other. It's an easy and fun trend to pull off, so check out what's in your closet that you can wear tomorrow to follow this great trend!

P.S. do the shoes look familiar? I few of us at jb and me had to have them:). They still have a few more sizes available in Grand Rapids;) also don't forget to follow my blog and Abby's blog for a chance to win one of two full size Aspen Bay candles from FOUND that smell AMAZING!!!  Winners will be picked Friday!

Messy curls.

I like hairdoos that are easy. I'm no pro when it comes to styling so this is one way I keep it simple yet stylish...
I think most people that have medium-long hairstyles could pull off this look quite easily.

Step 1 wash and dry hair...no need to straighten if you have a little wave to your hair it will only help with the style.

Step 2 take medium to large sections of your hair and wrap each section around the barrel of the curling iron. My iron is about 3/4 of an inch, but you can use smaller or larger depending in the wave you want.

Step 3 after each section of hair has been curled use your fingers to brush them out a bit.

All finished! Easy curls!
